Anytime there is an Emergency Situation, the UHF (443.175) Repeater
will be linked to the MTEARS network and the VHF (147.12) Repeater
will be used exclusively for the Emergency Net and will be under a NCO
Net Control Operator and all traffic will go through them until the
Emergency subsides and the NCO returns the Repeater back to normal use.
The NCO will ask for check ins when the Net is activated. Please give
your Callsign, Name, and Location slowly so they can get you on the log.
PLEASE refrain from any "chit chat" during these Nets.
All reports (ex. hail size, wind velocity, & trees or power lines down) you
should be as accurate as possible. These will be reported to the NWS in Nashville.
If you need to leave the Net, please advice NCO that you want to SECURE
your station and they will recognize that you are leaving and the time.
Any SKYWARN and other EMERGENCY training will be very helpful.
If we all work together and follow the rules, these NETS will be efficient
and will be very helpful to others. We never know when we may be saving
someone from harm or even death, maybe even our own.
